The Lazy Inn, located in Montello, Wisconsin, was built by Jerry and Eileen Messner as both their home and a 'bed and breakfast.' All rooms have been designed and decorated with your comfort and privacy in mind. In addition to one handicapped accessible bedroom on the main floor, there are six rooms on the second floor, away from the main living areas. Each room has a closet, queen-sized bed, and a private bathroom. (Handicapped bathroom is also available to the public on the main floor.)

The atmosphere at the Lazy Inn is casual and friendly. Unlike some 'bed and breakfast' inns, we do not expect you to participate in pre-planned activities. Your day is yours' to plan - we provide the peace and quiet to rest at the end of your day.

For breakfast, you will not find yourself limited to doughnuts, coffee and cold cereal. To begin your day, we provide a full breakfast. While each day is different, you will usually find that the menu includes fresh fruit, eggs, sausage, bacon, coffee cake, biscuits and gravy, potatoes, juice, coffee, milk and other delectables too numerous to name. If you have special dietary requirements, let us know when you make your reservation and we will do whatever we can to accommodate you. Lunch and dinner are up to you, and we can guide you to some excellent local restaurants.

The living areas of the house are open to you. We have a large sunken living room with a fireplace and plenty of places to sit. Satellite television is also available in the living room. The dining room is large with comfortable seating. If observing nature is more to your liking, we have a large, screened front porch where you can while away your time.

There are few restrictions at the Lazy Inn, and they are only in place to protect our guests' comfort.

- Smoking is only allowed on the front porch.

- No children under ten years old are allowed as guests (check with us if you need some flexibility with this - it depends on the other guests).

- No pets are allowed. In an emergency, there may be kennel space available at an additional charge, but this is only for emergencies.

- No snowmobiling, hunting or fishing on Inn property without the express permission of the owners.

$79.00 per room (plus applicable taxes)

We are currently open year-round. To help us accommodate our guests, reservations are best made at least a couple of weeks in advance. No reservations, but in the area and need a place to stay? Call us - if we have room you can sleep in comfort tonight. Reservations can be made in person or by calling 608-589-5984.

Gift certificates in varying amounts are available by phone or at the Lazy Inn - ask us about them. It is the perfect gift for your stressed-out friends.

As responsible operators of the Lazy Inn bed and breakfast, we reserve the right to refuse any reservation, or to cancel reservations. While we have never needed to do so, bear in mind that this is a family operation and emergencies do come up which need to be dealt with.
